Polk County Sheriff's Office Animal Control Section informs residents the Florida Department of Health reported a bat that originated from the 5000 block of River Lake Road, Winter Haven tested positive for rabies.  There were NO reported exposures in Polk County but please make sure your pets are currently vaccinated for rabies, and report any suspicious acting animals you may encounter to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Animal Control at 863-577-1762. Thank you.
